A partner of La Roche-Posay Racing Team since 2022, the BasicNet Group brand is extending its commitment to the entire K-Challenge platform, from the 38th America’s Cup to training programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some collaborations begin around an event; others grow stronger as a shared project takes shape. The announcement made on 24 September 2026 in Lorient illustrates the latter path: K-Way, a brand of the Italian BasicNet Group, is extending and broadening its commitment to K-Challenge, the French sporting organisation leading La Roche-Posay Racing Team in the race for the 38th America’s Cup, scheduled for Naples in 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A partner since 2022 and the previous French America’s Cup campaign, K-Way initially supported the team during the Barcelona cycle in 2024. The new agreement, however, goes beyond competition alone: the brand now supports all the teams and projects led by K-Challenge, spanning competition, talent development and innovation \u2014 K-Challenge Racing, Akademy K-Challenge and K-Challenge Lab \u2014 united by a shared ambition to make elite sport a setting for performance, knowledge sharing and experimentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than simply an equipment supplier, K-Way works jointly with K-Challenge’s technical teams to develop solutions tailored to each use. On the SailGP circuit, crews sail throughout the year in radically different climates, from Canadian cold to Australian heat, requiring clothing that both protects and is versatile enough to adapt. For the America’s Cup, the requirements are even more specific: the rules stipulate highly technical safety equipment \u2014 life jackets, helmets, protective gear or masks \u2014 that must be developed and fitted to the physique, role and needs of each athlete on board. This joint development approach also extends to shore teams and those providing support on the water, for whom durability, freedom of movement and ergonomics guide the design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership will also give rise to a collection for supporters and the general public, inspired by the world of K-Challenge, La Roche-Posay Racing Team and K-Way’s style codes, with a launch envisaged for 2027. Stephan Kandler, founder and CEO of K-Challenge, stresses that this new collaboration “covers the entire K-Challenge platform and is based on a genuine joint development process”, while Lorenzo Boglione, CEO of the BasicNet Group, sees it as a natural continuation: “water, wind and protection are inseparable from K-Way’s DNA”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in Paris in 1965 around a simple idea \u2014 to offer lightweight, functional and instantly recognisable protection against the elements \u2014 K-Way is thus building on its history for the long term.
