From 15 September to 31 October, its first floor gives way to Masterworks, a selection of exceptional pieces that brings together under one roof several of the most demanding names in contemporary haute horlogerie.

The initiative goes beyond simple commercial promotion: bringing together, in a single space, creations signed Armin Strom, Blancpain, Breguet, Czapek, Hautlence, Hublot, Girard-Perregaux, Jacob & Co. and Ulysse Nardin amounts to composing a deliberately broad panorama of what haute horlogerie can produce today, from the most established classicism to the most experimental approaches to the mechanical movement. The chosen format, a tight selection on a single floor rather than a rollout across the whole store, further reinforces this impression of a curated route, in which each piece converses with the next rather than simply being juxtaposed in a conventional commercial inventory.

This diversity of houses, rarely gathered on such a scale in a single point of sale, turns the boutique into a form of temporary exhibition rather than a mere commercial showcase. The choice of location is not neutral either: at 12 boulevard des Capucines, a few steps from the Opéra Garnier, Bucherer occupies one of the most central addresses in the Paris market for this kind of event, offering its visitors direct access to pieces normally scattered between single-brand boutiques and specialised fairs.

The very name of the operation, Masterworks, asserts an ambition: that of honouring artisanal know-how and technical innovation rather than the sole commercial renown of the houses on show. A way of recalling that haute horlogerie, even when sold within a multi-brand retailer, remains above all a matter of rare crafts and handed-down gestures, which the setting of a temporary exhibition makes it possible to highlight differently than a simple sales counter.

For Bucherer, whose international presence rests on a network of multi-brand boutiques, this type of operation raises a recurring question in watch retail: how to keep the experience of discovery alive physically, when customers are increasingly used to exploring new watches online before even stepping through a boutique’s door? Masterworks answers in its own way, by betting on the density and rarity of the gathering rather than on novelty alone. At a time when many players in watchmaking luxury are seeking to recreate, in store, a form of event capable of justifying a physical visit, this temporary exhibition illustrates a broader trend: turning the point of sale into a place of curiosity and discovery, at the risk otherwise of seeing it reduced to a mere logistical step in a purchasing journey largely begun elsewhere

https://www.bucherer.com/fr/fr/masterworks

For one autumn, the Bucherer boutique on boulevard des Capucines changes purpose.
