Since its acquisition by LVMH in 2017, RIMOWA has methodically expanded its vocabulary, moving from the fluted aluminum suitcase that built its legend to objects designed for everyday mobility. The German brand continues this trajectory with the announcement, on September 2 in Dubai, of new leather pieces enriching its Never Still collection, launched three years ago as the urban, daily-wear side of its offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The novelty lies first in material and color: RIMOWA introduces two new shades, Anthracite, a deep smoky gray, and Mocha, a muted brown with quiet charm, applied across a reworked range. The Never Still Leather Flap Backpack, already recognizable by its embossed, fluted surface echoing the brand’s historic aesthetic codes, now comes in a more compact size and in this new Mocha colorway, while its Large version joins the permanent collection in Anthracite, alongside the already-existing black model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RIMOWA is also introducing new soft travel bag formats \u2014 the Duffle \u2014 in grained leather, available in Large and Medium sizes in Anthracite, with the Large model also existing in black. The Never Still shoulder bag, offered here in a small format, echoes the Duffle’s aesthetic with a removable strap and a generous interior, available in both Mocha and Anthracite. The brand rounds out the range with a zippered tote in black leather, designed to hold a laptop up to 13 inches, and a leather toiletry case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the Never Still collection, the Anthracite shade also joins the Distinct range, RIMOWA’s leather suitcase line launched in 2023 and manufactured exclusively at the brand’s historic factory in Cologne. Made using a precise and durable leather-casing technique, this collection stands out for a sturdy construction that holds its shape while incorporating RIMOWA’s signature grooves. Over time, the Anthracite Cabin suitcase should develop a patina unique to each use \u2014 a phenomenon the brand embraces and highlights through its lifetime warranty, introduced in 2023 for all suitcases purchased since July 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To give substance to this range extension, RIMOWA orchestrated a campaign shot in three cities with contrasting atmospheres \u2014 Amsterdam, Los Angeles and Shanghai \u2014 entrusted respectively to photographers Dana Lixenberg, Daniel Arnold and Feng Li. The visual approach favors the ordinary beauty of short trips over the exoticism of long-haul travel: light filtering through a car window, the energy of a morning walk. A way, for a brand historically associated with long-haul flights, of asserting that mobility also plays out \u2014 and perhaps above all \u2014 in the repetition of daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new pieces have been available since September 2 in RIMOWA boutiques worldwide and on RIMOWA.com, with prices ranging from 590 euros for the toiletry case to 2,850 euros for the Anthracite Distinct Cabin suitcase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
