There is a way to visit Paris that has nothing to do with guidebooks. It belongs to someone who has lived the city from within, who knows which Palais-Royal passage smells most of jasmine in June, and by which Tuileries shop window the light falls like nowhere else. That is exactly what Manolo Blahnik offers with \u201cManolo\u2019s Maps\u201d: not a map, but a memory shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walk as a protocol<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On 29 June 2026, Manolo Blahnik did not organise a launch event. He organised a walk. The distinction is substantial. From the Palais-Royal boutique, a few steps from the antiques shop where he once worked, guests followed a delicate route: a stop at Officine Universelle Buly to receive a comb personalised with the house\u2019s initials, a stroll past the Louvre and the Tuileries Garden, a macaron break at Angelina, then an intimate dinner at the Grand Caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All these stops had one thing in common: they belong to Manolo Blahnik\u2019s personal geography. They were not addresses to tick off, but places that had nourished his eye, his hand and his creations. The guests, including Zita d\u2019Hauteville, Suzi de Givenchy, Mara Lafontan, India Weber and Hila Meir, all wore shoes from the Streetstyle Edit, a collection designed to be worn while walking. Literally: walking in Manolo\u2019s footsteps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cManolo\u2019s Maps\u201d: the product that effaces its own commercial purpose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The idea is simple: four maps for four cities \u2014 London, New York, Paris and Milan. Each traces the designer\u2019s favourite addresses, organised into four categories: stay, eat, walk, shop. What is striking is that these maps are not advertising tools in disguise. They say something true about a man who has spent his life looking at cities, absorbing their elegance and contradictions to express them in the arch of a heel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Paris map, in particular, tells a biography as much as an itinerary. The Palais-Royal holds a central place: this is where he established his boutique, near the art gallery where he worked when he first arrived in Paris. The geometric beauty of the Louvre, the serenity of the Tuileries: these places have fed his imagination for decades and now appear drawn on a sheet that can slip into a handbag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the map does not say<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The beauty of \u201cManolo\u2019s Maps\u201d lies in what they leave unsaid. They are not encyclopaedic. They do not cover all of Paris. They cover Manolo Blahnik\u2019s Paris \u2014 partial, subjective and full of memories. That is precisely what makes them precious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accompanying the maps is a capsule of men\u2019s and women\u2019s shoes, the Streetstyle Edit, designed to cross the globe, preferably on foot. The idea remains consistent: a Manolo Blahnik shoe is not an object for display. It is made to be worn, to show wear, to be taken somewhere. This insistence on movement and chosen wandering may be the most sincere thing the designer has ever produced. Less a collection than an invitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
