What interchangeable straps change, ultimately, is cultural rather than technical. A luxury watch is no longer a fixed object; it becomes a piece dressed for the day, just as one chooses a shoe or a belt. The Santos on its steel bracelet for the office, on black rubber for the weekend; the Daytona on steel at a wedding, on blue rubber by the pool. Steel, meanwhile, does not wear out in the box, an argument pre-owned buyers understand perfectly: an original bracelet that has never been polished and has tight links sells better than one that has been refreshed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spring bars arrive in the box, the change takes a few minutes with the right tool, and the steel bracelet returns to its case with its links and warranty card, ready for the next occasion that deserves it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
