The FAST50, built of aluminum and powered by four engines, reconnects with the DNA of speed that forged the Baglietto legend. The T60, on the other hand, pioneers a new way of life on board centered on light and tranquility. Between the two, it’s less a matter of choosing a model than a question posed to each owner: what do we truly expect from the sea?

There is a way to describe Baglietto that can be summed up in a single image: a white wake, cut at thirty knots, across a sea that most cruising yachts are content merely to cross. It is this image that the FAST50 brings back to life. At 49.9 meters long and powered by four engines, it belongs to the family of aluminum planing yachts that established the Italian shipyard’s international reputation in the 1990s and 2000s. Its hull design, by Francesco Paszkowski Design, does not seek to break with tradition but rather to pay homage: it reinterprets, in a contemporary style, the lines of some of the most iconic Baglietto yachts in the shipyard’s history. A delicate balancing act—honoring the past without ever succumbing to nostalgia—that Pierluigi Ausonio’s naval architecture strikes through interior spaces designed for comfortable cruising, even as the hull itself is engineered to glide effortlessly over the water.

At the other end of the spectrum, the T60 isn’t trying to break any records. Here, speed gives way to light: floor-to-ceiling windows, seamless continuity between interior and exterior, and spaces designed so that the view between the salon and the horizon is never obstructed. Also designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design, in collaboration with Margherita Casprini for the interiors, the T60 redefines luxury at sea—no longer about performance, but about openness to the landscape, the architecture’s ability to step aside and let the scenery take center stage.

For Fabio Ermetto, Baglietto’s sales director, the two models are not competitors but rather complementary: one celebrates the shipyard’s heritage of performance, while the other redefines the art of living on board through spaciousness and a connection to the sea. It’s a way of saying—without stating it outright—that the Italian company now refuses to reduce its identity to a single concept, even if it means speaking two different languages in the same catalog.

These two world premieres come as Baglietto has made significant investments in its two production sites. In La Spezia, the historic headquarters features three new 35,000-square-meter hangars capable of building vessels up to 65 meters in length, as well as docks that have been completely refurbished to accommodate 70-meter vessels, and a travel lift with a capacity of approximately 1,200 metric tons—the most powerful in Europe. In Carrara, the operational site is divided between the construction of military patrol boats under the Baglietto Navy brand and certain models from Bertram Yachts—which joined the group in 2015—alongside four new hangars dedicated to the DOM line and vessels up to 46 meters. During the Monaco Boat Show, owners, prospective clients, and journalists will be able to tour the two new vessels privately by simply contacting the shipyard’s sales or press teams.

Industrial capacity put to work in the service of two opposing visions of nautical pleasure. It remains to be seen which—the wake or the silence—will define maritime luxury in the coming decade—or whether, as Baglietto suggests in Monaco this year, true sophistication lies precisely in no longer having to choose.

default

default

At the Monaco Yacht Show, September 23–26, 2026, the La Spezia shipyard will unveil two vessels in a world premiere that have almost nothing in common except for bearing the same signature.
