In less than 40 days, the Esplanade du Champ de Mars will welcome the world’s top 30 riders and horses, renowned amateurs and some 120,000 spectators for the 2nd edition of the Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping, an international show jumping competition, but also a cultural meeting in the heart of Paris. The event, open to the general public and free of charge, will take place on July 3, 4 and 5, 2015. <\/p>\n

For the 2nd year running, the Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping is also part of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT), a 15-stage equestrian championship presided over by Jan Tops and considered the most prestigious in the world. With the Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping, the city becomes the 8th stage of this competition, alongside such exceptional destinations as Miami Beach, Monaco, Shanghai, London and Doha. <\/p>\n

As with the 1st edition in 2014, the competition grandstands will be freely accessible to the general public. They will be able to watch a wide range of events for professionals, amateurs and even children. <\/p>\n

\"longines2\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The competition will bring together the world’s 30 greatest riders and their horses – Olympic Champions, World Champions, including the winner of the first edition, France’s Kevin Staut, and Jessica Springsteen – as well as renowned amateurs such as Guillaume Canet, Sofia Abramovich and Charlotte Casiraghi.<\/p>\n

Virginie Couperie Eiffel, President and founder of the event, says she is “proud of the reinforced support and confidence shown by Longines, an emblematic brand in the equestrian world”. She adds: “Longines’ presence and participation in the Longines Global Champion Tour, since the beginning of the adventure, testify to the excellence of this event, thanks to which Paris is becoming, at last, a reference stage in 5* jumping.”<\/p>\n

An event that honors French culture and art de vivre The level of excellence of Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping extends beyond the sporting dimension. The Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping is conceived as an event that honors the finest in French art, craftsmanship and gastronomy. <\/p>\n

The three days of competition will be punctuated by exceptional shows: The Garde R\u00e9publicaine and Lucien Gruss will demonstrate their mastery of the equestrian arts.<\/p>\n

Renowned Italian contemporary artist Paola Pivi, exhibited by Galerie Perrotin, created the poster for the event as part of an exceptional photo shoot, a true artistic performance: for the first time in history, horses walked on the 1st floor of the Eiffel Tower.<\/p>\n

A “Village”, a warm and inviting space open to the public, will offer a range of activities based around the equestrian world – traditional crafts and artistic expressions (photography, painting, literature…).<\/p>\n

Coco Coup\u00e9rie-Eiffel and Christophe Bonnat, owners of Caf\u00e9 de l’Homme on the Esplanade du Trocad\u00e9ro, will be celebrating the art of living “\u00e0 la fran\u00e7aise”. To celebrate French gastronomy, two ephemeral restaurants will be set up on the Champ-de-Mars, on the edge of the runway.
