2013 will have been a real challenge requiring a presence at all times! The exceptional terroirs of Ch\u00e2teau P\u00e9desclaux and the care taken by the technical teams throughout the year have enabled us to harvest excellent quality Cabernet-Sauvignon as well as remarkable Cabernet-Franc. The quality of the wines produced makes us forget the difficulty of this vintage.<\/h5>\n
2013, a challenging year<\/h5>\n
The wet and cool beginning of the year caused an unprecedented delay in the vegetative cycle. After a homogeneous budburst, the flowering takes place during the last two weeks of June, under the rain. These climatic conditions lead to a little coulure and millerandage causing a decrease in yields. Fortunately, July and August were hot and dry, allowing the grapes to catch up and reach full maturity. In order to obtain an optimal maturity of the berries, the monitoring of the vineyard was increased.<\/h5>\n
The green operations were essential, in particular the thinning out of leaves in order to preserve the vine and to aerate the grapes. The high temperatures of September and the constant humidity lead to an anticipation of the date of the harvest which takes place in a short period of time from September 30 to October 9. Thanks to a gravitational vatting, a pre-fermentation cold maceration as well as delestages, wines with an intense color and a nice grain of tannin are obtained. The wine is aged for 14 months, 50% in new barrels.<\/h5>\n
Ch\u00e2teau P\u00e9desclaux 2013 is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, this 2013 vintage presents a complex aromatic palette, very interesting, and reveals a beautiful balance between fresh fruit aromas and silky tannins. Ch\u00e2teau P\u00e9desclaux 2013 is sold in the best wine shops at an average price of 30 \u20ac. A New Era In 2015, Ch\u00e2teau P\u00e9desclaux, the 5th Grand Cru Class\u00e9 of Pauillac, is writing a new page in its history with a restructured vineyard, a new vat room and spectacular cellars designed by the famous architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte.<\/h5>\n

It is to Jacky and Fran\u00e7oise Lorenzetti that Ch\u00e2teau P\u00e9desclaux owes its letters of nobility. In 2009, they acquired the property with the immediate aim of bringing it to a level of excellence.
\nUnder the guidance of Vincent Bache Gabrielsen and Emmanuel Cruse, who manage Jacky Lorenzetti’s properties, the vineyard has undergone considerable work, including soil studies, uprooting and planting. In addition, with the acquisition of Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Milon in 2009 and Ch\u00e2teau B\u00e9h\u00e9r\u00e9 in 2013, the vineyard of P\u00e9desclaux increases from 26 to 48 hectares.<\/h5>\n
Ch\u00e2teau P\u00e9desclaux needed a production facility that would allow it to express its great terroirs to the full.
\nJacky and Fran\u00e7oise Lorenzetti entrusted Jean-Michel Wilmotte with the design of the new technical installations and the renovation of the Ch\u00e2teau, with the watchword being total respect for the grapes from the vine to the wine.<\/h5>\n
Today, Ch\u00e2teau P\u00e9desclaux is organized around a central element that houses the vat room and the cellars. Spectacular, the building seduces by the purity and modernity of its lines. Noble materials, glass, steel and wood were favored. The facade clad in bronze aluminum cladding seems to rest on a glass base while the tanks seem to support the roof of the whole. The vat room and cellars have been fitted out and designed according to the “all-gravity” process, combining modernity and tradition.<\/h5>\n
\nThe Ch\u00e2teau is set in a glass case that echoes the transparency of the vat room. A real journey has been imagined from the castle to the cellars through an aromatic Zen garden. Ch\u00e2teau P\u00e9desclaux has thus acquired a state-of-the-art production tool that is part of a genuine architectural project.<\/h5>\n
