Winner of the Marcel Duchamp 2021 Prize<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Monday October 18, 2021, the jury met to select the winner of the Marcel Duchamp Prize 2021 from the four artists nominated for this year’s edition: Julian Charri\u00e8re, Isabelle Cornaro, Julien Creuzet, Lili Reynaud Dewar. These deliberations were followed by a presentation of the artists by their respective rapporteurs: Martin Guinard-Terrin, Cl\u00e9ment Diri\u00e9, Maboula Soumahoro and Manuel Segade. <\/p>\n

The seven-member jury – Xavier Rey, Claude Bonnin, Leon Amitai, Shalva Breus, Emma Lavigne, Akemi Shiraha, Annabelle T\u00e9n\u00e8ze – awarded the Prix Marcel Duchamp 2021 to Lili Reynaud Dewar. Born in La Rochelle in 1975, she lives and works in Grenoble. The artist is represented by Clearing, Brussels & New-York; Emmanuel Layr, Vienna & Rome. <\/p>\n

“It was difficult to decide between four personalities destined for a magnificent aesthetic career. Since it was necessary to do so, the passionate discussions between the members of the jury singled out Lili Reynaud Dewar, whose universal approach, effective institutional and social criticism, and above all her risk-taking with her own body were particularly touching.
