The story of Papier d’Arm\u00e9nie began in the 19th century. During a trip to Armenia, Auguste Ponsot noticed that the inhabitants perfumed and disinfected their homes by burning Benzoin (Benzoin is actually a mixture of the resins of different plants). Seduced by this traditional and ecological practice, he decided to import the product to France. <\/p>\n
His associate, pharmacist Henri Rivier, discovered that dissolving benzoin in 90\u00b0 alcohol produced a persistent scent. The addition of perfume produced a pleasant, long-lasting aromatic blend.
