His business suits are not described by international bloggers. Yet this Breton is one of the most influential and powerful people in the world of fashion and contemporary art &#8211; just like Bernard Arnault (LVMH).  <\/p>\n<p>Luxury, Sport and Lifestyle: this is the program of the Kering Group, founded in 1963 by Fran\u00e7ois Pinault. So, when Paris &#8211; as part of the &#8220;R\u00e9inventer Paris&#8221; process &#8211; needs new projects to develop its territory, the businessman is there. Already in 2004, he had built a project on the Ile Seguin, the former site of the Renault factories. A museum to showcase his collection of contemporary art &#8211; including emblematic pieces by Mondrian, Warhol, Rothko, Donald Judd and Jeff Koons &#8211; did not come to fruition (slow procedures&#8230;).   <\/p>\n<p>A mistake, a loss. Primarily dedicated to contemporary art, this showcase served to curb Pinault&#8217;s power in contemporary art, and to attribute to him the qualities of a benevolent patron. A rare supporter of lesser-known artists, all become famous and recognized once validated by the businessman. There are whispers of Pinault&#8217;s arrival at the Jardin des Champs- Elys\u00e9es or the H\u00f4tel de Coulanges&#8230; A return to Paris, a reinvestment at a time when Bernard Arnault&#8217;s LVMH foundation in the Bois de Boulogne has already welcomed over 1.2 million visitors. Inaugurated just over a year ago, the foundation&#8217;s success has reawakened old rivalries. Whatever the case, we can&#8217;t wait for the project to be set up, the location to be revealed, and the works to be chosen, at the heart of a collection of over 3,000 pieces&#8230; As for the rivalry with Arnault and the billionaires&#8217; benevolent image as guardians of art: they serve more to fuel and create narratives, but remain details in the face of a project that would carry the artistic values to which France is so attached.
