\nTo celebrate the opening of the Maison Louis Vuitton Vend\u00f4me on October 4, 2017, Louis Vuitton unveils an exceptional watch, the pav\u00e9 Tambour Moon Tourbillon Volant “Poin\u00e7on de Gen\u00e8ve”. The case and platinum are entirely encrusted with diamonds – a first for a “Poin\u00e7on de Gen\u00e8ve” certified watch. The Tambour Moon Tourbillon Volant illustrates the House’s watchmaking expertise in a technical and artistic feat. <\/p>\n

A unique timepiece, a true horological work of art<\/strong>
\nIn 2002, Louis Vuitton created the iconic Tambour watch with its unique curvature. Fifteen years later, Louis Vuitton pays tribute to its flagship model with a new collection: Tambour Moon, an interpretation of the Tambour watch with a curved case. Its latest haute horlogerie model, the Tambour Moon Tourbillon Volant, is a true technical feat, as attested by its Poin\u00e7on de Gen\u00e8ve, rightly considered the highest certification of provenance, craftsmanship and reliability. Its skeletonized movement reveals its mechanism. Visible
\nthanks to a clever play on transparency, the hand-wound LV 97 caliber reinterprets the tourbillon, the complication par excellence, while offering great ease of use with an exceptional 80-hour power reserve. A magnificent demonstration of savoir-faire, as spectacular in its aesthetics as in its mechanics. A flying tourbillon with a finely openworked cage, giving the impression of extreme lightness, entirely developed, assembled and controlled by the master watchmakers of the Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton.
\nThe result of a successful alchemy between the case adorned with 145 baguette-cut diamonds, the movement set with 106 brilliant-cut diamonds, and its crown featuring a rose-cut diamond – for a total weight of around 7.6 carats – the diamond-set version of this Tambour Moon “Poin\u00e7on de Gen\u00e8ve” sparkles with a thousand lights. It is fitted with a black alligator strap featuring a PT950 platinum pin buckle paved with baguette-cut diamonds. <\/p>\n

Style<\/strong>
\nThis is the first time that a watch with a gem-set movement has been certified with the Poin\u00e7on de Gen\u00e8ve hallmark. Entirely hand-crafted with exceptional finishing, this timepiece requires more than 120 hours of goldsmith’s work, where the stones are cut on the work to create a puzzle of 296 diamonds with the finest sparkle. Set majestically in the Tambour Moon’s platinum case, with diamond-paved bezel, flange and lugs, the movement’s architecture is structured around the circle, but also in a linear fashion. Three circles set with brilliant-cut diamonds are arranged on a vertical line: at noon, the finely chased barrel drum revealing the Louis Vuitton signature; in the center, the hours and minutes; at six o’clock, the tourbillon cage in Monogram flower, a tribute to the Maison’s emblematic signature. A special alignment for a unique aesthetic against a backdrop of transparency through a skeletonized plate paved with round diamonds. A barrel, a dial, a tourbillon cage that seem to float in space, suspended, as if weightless. <\/p>\n
