Swiss watchmaker Hublot has just officially presented the special Classic Fusion “Vend\u00f4me Collection” series at its boutique at number 10 Place Vend\u00f4me. The timepiece will be available exclusively for three months in the eponymous Hublot Boutique. <\/p>\n

This special series is a vibrant tribute to the Place Vend\u00f4me, which has been the setting for the Hublot Boutique for five years now, and whose famous column adorns the stylized H of the Boutique’s logo.<\/p>\n

Emblematic of the Art of Fusion so dear to the Manufacture, the Classic Fusion “Vend\u00f4me Collection” is in keeping with the history of the French capital, while offering a modern and innovative reinterpretation of its heritage.<\/p>\n

A Parisian landmark since 1810, the 44-meter-high column was inspired by the Trajan column, covered with a cap cast, according to legend, from the bronze of cannons taken from the enemy, and decorated with bas-reliefs depicting French trophies and victories, winding 280 meters up to its summit topped by the statue of<\/p>\n

Napoleon, destroyed then rebuilt, the Vend\u00f4me column has survived the vagaries of history.<\/p>\n

As a tribute, the dial of the Classic Fusion “Vend\u00f4me Collection” is adorned with bronze, a true technical feat! This copper-tin alloy, commonly known as “verdigris” because of its green-gold mottling, is particularly unstable. The corrosion and oxidation phenomena to which it is naturally subjected jeopardize its durability, even within a timepiece. That’s why Hublot’s watchmakers have encased it in a sapphire capsule that limits its contact with air, making it unalterable. <\/p>\n

To complete the tribute and not overlook the cobblestones that surround the Colonne Vend\u00f4me, the case of the Classic Fusion “Vend\u00f4me Collection” has been crafted in titanium.<\/p>\n

Dial and case harmonize with a black rubber and brown calfskin “vintage” strap, another example of Hublot’s fusion of tradition and modernity.<\/p>\n

The Classic Fusion “Vend\u00f4me Collection” was unveiled in the unique, ephemeral setting of the Hublot Vend\u00f4me Boutique, decked out in black to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the All Black concept – watches that make time invisible. The 10 years of this concept are revealed as visitors walk through the Boutique, revealing the flagship All Black models created since 2006 via an interactive carpet. <\/p>\n

Respecting tradition while asserting its different and visionary character: this is what guided the watchmakers of the Manufacture Horlog\u00e8re Suisse who, like alchemists, fused past and present to create, with the Classic Fusion “Vend\u00f4me Collection”, a future with the fragrance of eternity.<\/p>\n
