In 2007, Ch\u00e2teau La Conseillante, one of the most emblematic estates on Pomerol and the Right Bank, launched its second wine, “Duo de Conseillante”. Made from younger vines, “Duo” expresses all the complexity and elegance of this great Pomerol terroir. <\/h4>\n

Duo de Conseillante is made from vines with an average age of 14 years, planted on a soil composed of 60% grey clay and 40% sandy gravel, resting on red clay. The vines are pruned in Guyot simple and mixed. Their planting density is 7,000 plants per hectare. The grapes are harvested by hand, in small, aerated crates; sorting is both manual and mechanical on 4 tables. Pre-fermentation cold maceration lasts 3 to 4 days, with vatting lasting 14 to 21 days. The concrete vats, adapted to the plot, are fully thermo-regulated. Batches are aged separately throughout. Aging lasts 14 months, in 50% new French oak barrels. Every 3 to 4 months, the wine is racked by bellows. Fining with egg white is carried out in the barrels. <\/h5>\n
Duo de Conseillante 2012 is composed of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The Merlot is beautifully ripe, with an average degree of 13.8\u00b0, lots of fruit and well-integrated tannins. The mid-palate is well constructed and very subtle. This style is similar to the 2004 vintage, but with a little more concentration. The Cabernet Franc is aromatic and charming. <\/h5>\n
Duo de Conseillante’s lighter structure means it can be enjoyed now, although its fine tannic structure means it can be kept for 6 to 8 years. Duo de Conseillante 2012 will be ideal as an aperitif with tapas or an assortment of ham, and at the table with a selection of poultry or grilled red meats. <\/h5>\n
