In 2000, Anabelle Cruse Bardinet, the owner of Ch\u00e2teau Corbin, Grand Cru Class\u00e9 of Saint-Emilion, created a second wine, DIVIN de Corbin. Ch\u00e2teau Corbin is one of the oldest properties in Saint-Emilion, as evidenced by the 15th century foundations of a residence that belonged to the Black Prince. Acquired in 1924 by Anabelle Cruse Bardinet’s great-grandparents, Ch\u00e2teau Corbin has been passed down through 4 generations of women. After studying oenology and gaining experience in the M\u00e9doc and in California, Anabelle, who is very attached to the family estate, decided in 1999 to take up the challenge and wake up the sleeping beauty. Faced with the magnitude of the task, she quickly chose to settle there with her family.<\/h5>\n
With the arrival of Anabelle, this magnificent property, which had been somewhat neglected, enters a new era. From then on, major work and improvements were undertaken in the vineyard, the cellars and the vat room. As time went by, Anabelle deepened her knowledge of the soils of this 13-hectare vineyard, which is predominantly sandy-clay, with the implementation of a more and more refined parcel management. Since 2006, Anabelle Cruse Bardinet has been working with Jean-Philippe Fort, oenologist of Michel Rolland’s team.<\/h5>\n
A TERROIR CLOSE TO THE GREATEST<\/h5>\n
Ch\u00e2teau Corbin is a Grand Cru Class\u00e9 since the origin of the classification of Saint-Emilion in 1954. Its 13-hectare vineyard extends in one block to the northwest of the Saint-Emilion appellation, bordering Pomerol. Its terroir includes 2 types of soils, ancient sands on ferric clay subsoils which give the wine its finesse and clays which give it its power. This duality contributes to the complexity of its wines. The vineyard is planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and is naturally drained by a 15m slope from South to North. The average age of the vines is 30 years and the planting density increases from 6,667 to 8,333 vines\/ha for the young plots.<\/h5>\n
In a respectful approach of the environment, the vines are cultivated in reasoned agriculture and the grounds are worked by ploughings and a mechanical work without weedkiller. The yields are voluntarily limited to favor the concentration essential to the elaboration of a great wine.<\/h5>\n
DIVIN de Corbin 2012 has a beautiful deep and intense color. Its nose is still discreet but reveals ripe fruits and chocolate notes. The mouth is tasty and full with tannins well present and velvety.<\/span><\/h5>\n
