For the 40th anniversary of the Tour de France, a peloton at the top has teamed up to deliver a capsule collection of sneakers, socks and jerseys, to be discovered from July 20, 2015.<\/div>\n
Cycling isn’t just about doping and bad tan lines. It’s more than a sport, it’s a culture, an event that brings together millions of curious onlookers and enthusiasts every year along the French roads. The highlight of the show: the finish on the Champs Elys\u00e9e, a veritable institution. <\/div>\n
Since 1903, this race has acquired international prestige, bringing together the biggest names in cycling and attracting the best sponsors from all walks of life. So it’s no coincidence that Colette, the pioneer of the concept store, whose collaborations have spawned mythical clothes, records, books and shoes, are known to sell out very quickly. <\/div>\n
For the Tour de France 2015, the most obvious association is with Le Coq Sportif: the brand has been supporting the event since 1951.<\/div>\n
When a brand renowned for its expertise in sportswear meets the Parisian store Colette, the result is a stunning collection. Based on the classic codes of cycling apparel, the jerseys are modernized with a Toile de Jouy print, a tribute to the final Parisian race of the Grand Loop. The print is also used on the sneakers. <\/div>\n
Perfectly in tune with today’s sportswear trends, and with its ability to turn functional garments into cutting-edge wardrobes, this collection will enable a privileged club to pay stylish tribute to French sporting culture.<\/div>\n
It will bring good luck, no doubt. It should calm the current superstitions surrounding the curse of the yellow jersey. In modern Toile de Jouy prints, or electric blue, the chromatic palette conjures up a spell! <\/div>\n
