In the heart of Saint-\u00c9milion’s prestigious hillsides, in a terroir that has to be earned, a “badly shaped” terrain made of hollows and bumps, Ch\u00e2teau Godeau rubs shoulders with illustrious neighbors such as La Mondotte and Tertre Roteboeuf. Acquired by Agn\u00e8s and Alb\u00e9ric Florisoone, former co-owners of Ch\u00e2teau Calon S\u00e9gur, this 6-hectare jewel in the Saint-\u00c9milion Grand Cru appellation, almost unknown until recently, is already becoming famous. Ch\u00e2teau Godeau Ducarpe Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2011<\/p><\/div>\n

As Agn\u00e8s and Alb\u00e9ric Florisoone like to say, “We take full responsibility for our second wine,” because it’s not a question of “downgrading” the lesser vats. A worthy younger brother to Ch\u00e2teau Godeau, it comes from the same hillsides but is made from younger vines. Its ageing is also different: 10 months for 20% in new barrels and 80% in barrels of 1 and 2 wines. It is appreciated for its freshness and fruitiness. <\/span><\/p>\n

The 2011 vintage has an expressive <\/span>expressive nose dominated by spices: pepper, chili, mint and a touch of <\/span>empyreumatic touch.<\/span>On the palate, the attack is broad, with half-body structure, while the second half is firmer and more virile.<\/span><\/p>\n
