A place steeped in history<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

On the corner of Rue Charles V and Rue Saint Paul, where the King’s mansions and gardens once stood, you’ll find L’Enoteca. Transformed into a trattoria, the establishment is none other than a historic 17th-century wine cellar. It’s a little piece of Parisian history in its own right. L’Enoteca was one of the few wine inns approved by King Louis XIV. <\/span>
\n<\/span>Alexandre Chapon, owner of the Aux Vins des Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es, Pamela Popo and Chez Julien restaurants, is giving a new lease of life to L’Enoteca, a historic trattoria created in December 1990 and located in the heart of the Marais district. He has completely renovated the restaurant’s first floor, with a chic, warm new interior designed by talented decorator Ingrid Taillandier. Today, the contemporary “salon priv\u00e9” feel of the second floor contrasts with the woodsy ambience of the first floor. <\/span><\/p>\n

\nI take a seat upstairs and decide to have a burrata for starters, a good barometer for verifying the authenticity of a restaurant that claims to serve cuisine from the Italian peninsula. The test is passed with flying colors. The cheese is milky and very fresh. A treat!<\/span><\/p>\n

This restaurant boasts an impressive wine list, perhaps the most extensive in Paris for Italian wines. Over 350 references and 20,000 bottles! All regions of Italy are represented. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the main course, I opt for a plate of pumpkin gnocchi. Truly original and very surprising. The service is conscientious and diligent. No complaints here. <\/span><\/p>\n

For dessert, I indulge in a duo of Panna Cotta served with a glass of Moscato. <\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, l’Enoteca is a truly fine Italian restaurant in Paris. A place well worth a visit, both for the setting and for what you find on the plate. <\/span><\/p>\n

The “L’Enoteca” restaurant is open from 12:00 to 14:30 and <\/span><\/strong>
\nfrom 7.30pm to 11.30pm, Monday to Saturday, <\/span><\/strong>
\nSundays from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 19:30 to 23:00.<\/span><\/strong>
