Today, superheroes are everywhere, thanks in no small part to film adaptations.<\/div>\n
Right now, it’s the release of “Wolverine: The Immortal” (20th century Fox) on DVD and Blu-Ray 3D that is logically attracting attention. Overall, the film is a success for fans of the character. Jackman is, as always, convincing, the action is top-notch, and the script really keeps you on the edge of your seat. This time, Wolverine flies to Japan to visit an old friend in agony, a journey that holds many surprises. The direction by James Mangold (“Copland”) is convincing, even if the director is often more at ease with dramatic scenes than action ones. <\/div>\n
What’s more, the film is loosely based on the cult comic-book by Claremont and Miller, created in 1982, allowing us to discover (at last) the beautiful Mariko on film, as well as the memorable introductory scene with a bear. A fine piece of work, no less, which avoids the trap of ultra-violence. Note: Wolverine creators Len Wein and Chris Claremont have their say in the bonus features! <\/div>\n

In parallel, don’t miss “Insaisissables” (M6 Vid\u00e9o) directed by Louis Leterrier (“The Incredible Hulk”). In this film, you’ll discover a group of magicians who pull off breathtaking heists, while trying to elude two FBI and Interpol agents. Action, suspense, magic… a success with a top-notch cast including Mark Ruffalo (Hulk!). <\/div>\n
