Encouraged by his friend Thierry Mugler, he presented his first collection in 1979. His particularity: modeling women&#8217;s bodies like a sculptor, playing with materials. The use of leather made his creations unique and became his trademark.   <\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Azzedine Ala\u00efa is one of the few to have <span style=\"font-size: small;\">mastered every stage in the creation of a garment: tracing a pattern, drawing on canvas the shapes and volumes he has in mind, cutting, sewing and taming fabrics. <\/span>His work stands the test of time. For him, a garment should last, not fade away at the end of a season. His independence in a highly codified world shone through, and in 1985 he was awarded two Oscars for Fashion in Paris.  <\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">At the Palais Galliera, Azzedine Ala\u00efa&#8217;s exceptional dresses are on show in a scenography by designer Martin Szekely. An exhibition that blends fashion and art, just like the couturier&#8217;s career.
