TWO WEEKS AGO, THE AJILA FOUNDATION PRESENTED ITS SECOND EDITION OF THE RED DEFILE, AN ALARMING CHARITY EVENT. <\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in 2008 by Isabelle Weill, the AJILA Foundation raises awareness of cardiovascular disease. With a few simple gestures and a little attention, we can save so many lives! This is what AJILA and its scientific committee advocate through preventive actions, first-aid training and the installation of defibrillators in public places… <\/span><\/p>\n

In 2015, modelled on the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” movement, Isabelle launched “Sauvez le C\u0153ur des femmes” in France, with the aim of educating people about the importance of taking care of their health, and mobilizing to keep women’s hearts beating. Contrary to popular belief, cardiovascular disease does not only affect men. Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 cause of death in women, accounting for 1 in 3 deaths a year, and is a real public health issue. <\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday November 16, 2018, on the occasion of the second edition of the Red D\u00e9fil\u00e9, Save Women’s Hearts gathered women of influence and media, companies and scientists at the H\u00f4tel Marriott des Champs \u00c9lys\u00e9es to adorn themselves in red and parade; because for Save Women’s Hearts, wearing red means carrying a message.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are no mannequins, just “real” women wearing the clothes, and there’s something for every body type, which is what I like. This year, I also invited young women from the Faculty of Medicine. As future doctors, it’s important that they get the message across, and I wanted to raise their awareness by saying “take care of yourself”! <\/i>Isabelle Weill<\/span><\/p>\n

Like last year, designers and fashion houses were keen to support the movement and dressed the ambassadors in red dresses and creations. Sandrine Qu\u00e9tier, A\u00efda Touhiri, Nad\u00e8ge Beausson-Diagne, Charlotte Valandrey and thirty other women at heart took to the catwalk in John Galliano, Paule Ka, Isabel Marant, Emanuel Ungaro, Liu Chao and Manish Arora, to name but a few. <\/span><\/p>\n

For Save the Women’s Heart and its ambassadors, wearing red means carrying a message.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, the L’Exception concept store also joined the Red Defil\u00e9, donating 10% of sales on an exclusive selection of red pieces to the Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n
