In 1245, it was the fief of the Lords of Blanquefort, owners of the place until 1453. Among its many owners, we will remember Pierre de Mons, who gave it his name according to the custom of the time, when he inherited the estate in 1623. He dedicated his life to the development of the vineyard. This is the beginning of the prestigious wine history of Château La Tour de Mons. In 1858, the property was classified as a “good bourgeois”.

The work of the men, generation after generation, has thus made it possible to develop the superb terroir of Château La Tour de Mons, made up of Garonne gravel and clay-limestone, which are particularly suitable for the production of great wines. The vineyard today covers 48 hectares in one piece, a true Clos, located in the northern part of the Margaux Appellation, on the banks of the Garonne, alongside the greatest Médoc Crus.

The estate

The estate belonged to the descendants of the de Mons family until the end of the 20th century. Everything is done to produce a classic, pure and elegant wine, in the deepest respect of this great terroir of Margaux.

Marquis de Mons 2013 reveals a ruby color. The expressive nose unfolds aromas of black currant and raspberry. With a beautiful vivacity, the tasting continues on the palate with a supple matter and a finish with tight tannins.
