The <strong>two supermodels,<\/strong> dressed in <em>lehengas<\/em> by Rohit Bal, adorned the nose of the aircraft with a garland and a bindi in the <strong>perfect Indian tradition<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The door of the new aircraft was decorated with a henna design and, to invoke good luck, the plane was encircled by flowers. Assisted by British Airways pilots Suneil Banerjee and Caitlin Emery, Neelam and Suki <strong>ended the ceremony with a flower throw.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>After the inauguration ceremony, the two It-girls boarded the aircraft and discovered the <strong>new first-class cabin.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nRobert Williams, British Airways Asia-Pacific Sales Director<\/strong>  announced:  <em>&#8220;We are delighted to launch our very first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the London-New Delhi route, with a new first-class cabin. We are very focused on the Indian market, which is our second largest after the United States, not to mention the United Kingdom. At British Airways, we want to put the customer at the center of our attention by offering quality comfort and service on board our aircraft, and by offering an extensive route network with 179 cities in 75 countries.&#8221;<\/em>The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet will comprise 42 aircraft at a total investment of \u00a35 billion. New Delhi is the first destination served by the new aircraft. This will be followed by Abu Dhabi from November 5, 2015, and Kuala Lumpur from December 2015. Then the Boeing 787-9 will operate on the London &#8211; Austin route from February 2016 and on the new London &#8211; San Jose route from next May.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>The Boeing 787-9 is 6 meters longer than its predecessor, the Boeing 787-8.<\/strong> So, as well as offering World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and Club World (business) classes, <strong>the aircraft has plenty of room for a first class &#8211;
