The finest in Languedoc ros\u00e9s<\/p>\n

There’s no time to lose in (re)discovering La Minuette: an organic ros\u00e9 with the color of a rose, and the bouquet of a rare cuv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

She has the pale complexion that befits the ros\u00e9 of fine weather. It’s the kind of ros\u00e9 that can be enjoyed as an aperitif, before moving on to the table without fuss, in the company of grilled fish or shellfish. But La Minuette from Domaine Gayda in Brugairolles (11), hides its game well. It’s a lot more complex than it looks! “Beyond its color, obtained by light pressing, we drew inspiration from Bandol and its king grape variety to vinify this cuv\u00e9e. Mourv\u00e8dre accounts for 60% of the blend, alongside Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault,” explains Vincent Chansault. The wine maker, who co-founded the estate in 2000, has worked this wine like a white, juggling acidity and smoothness with organically grown grapes from the limestone terroir of La Livini\u00e8re. <\/p>\n

From vine to rose<\/p>\n

Vegan friendly, La Minuette is aged on lees and stamped Pays d’Oc IGP. The result is now available in a new bottle: a delicate floral nose, citrus notes, a fresh, mineral palate and a gourmet finish… Jancis Robinson, one of the world’s most influential wine critics, gave it an exceptional score of 17 out of 20. As for its name, look no further: it’s a tribute to Tim Ford, the estate’s owner. Before growing vines, he spent 25 years producing roses in Africa. “La Minuette” was the first variety he planted in Kenya in 1982. Today, roses still have a place at Domaine Gayda. But at the ends of the vine rows! <\/p>\n

Creator of the famous “Chemin de Moscou” cuv\u00e9e, Domaine Gayda now boasts 21 cuv\u00e9es in all three colors.
