Oris presents the third watch made in partnership with the Carl Brashear Foundation and the first powered by Calibre 401, a highly resistant in-house automatic movement with a five-day power reserve.<\/p>\n

A watch with a big heart<\/p>\n

The Carl Brashear Cal. 401 Limited Edition is equipped with a new movement designed exclusively by Oris. <\/p>\n

It is with great pride that we present the Carl Brashear Cal. 401 Limited Edition, created in support of the Carl Brashear Foundation. We are also delighted that this special watch, limited to 2,000 pieces, is the first to feature the Oris Cal. 401, the second of our new automatic movements designed entirely in-house. <\/p>\n

The new watch features a 40 mm case in bronze, a material chosen not only to symbolize the diving suits worn by Carl during his career as a “Master Diver” in the U.S. Navy, but also as a metal with its own story to tell. Bronze is a natural material that develops a patina through reaction with oxygen in the air and moisture on the skin. Over time, the hue becomes unique, a visual record of the wearer’s life. <\/p>\n

At the heart of the watch is Calibre 401. Designed entirely in-house by Oris watchmakers, it is inspired by Calibre 400, launched last October. Not only more accurate than a chronometer (from -3 to +5 seconds per day), it solves many of the problems of today’s mechanical movements, offering a high level of anti-magnetism, a five-day power reserve and an extended 10-year warranty. <\/p>\n

The Oris Calibre 401 differs from the Calibre 400 in that it incorporates a small seconds-hand at 6 o’clock. A movement designed to withstand the turbulence of life – it is a timeless symbol of the spirit shown by Carl Brashear during his military career. <\/p>\n

The watch features a naval-inspired blue dial, a bronze unidirectional rotating bezel with embossed dive scale, and a parachute webbing strap, hand-crafted and custom-made exclusively by Erika’s Originals.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
