TAG Heuer, Intel Corporation and Google have jointly unveiled a connected watch designed by Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer, powered by Intel technology and benefiting from the entire Android Wear universe.
\nThe symbolic LVMH Tower was the setting for the press conference held by Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer & President of the LVMH Group Watches Division, accompanied by Brian Krzanich, CEO of Intel Corporation and David Singleton, VP Android Engineering at Google.
\nJean-Claude Biver said, “We are particularly proud to present the first connected watch that marries over 150 years of history with the future. The TAG Heuer Connected watch thus allows you not only to connect to the future, but also to be able to connect to eternity.”<\/p>\n

\nWhat is the TAG Heuer Connected watch?
\nFirst of all, it’s a luxury watch that benefits from over 150 years of expertise, know-how and heritage from TAG Heuer, a watch manufacturer based in the cradle of Swiss watchmaking at La Chaux-de-Fonds (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, surrounded by mountains and alpine pastures.
\nHere, watchmakers have been inventing incredible timepieces in their workshops since the early 18th century (in summer they were farmers in the mountain pastures), building the unique reputation and extraordinary image of quality and exclusivity of Swiss watches around the world. Here, for over 150 years, TAG Heuer has been inventing and manufacturing racy, sporty watches, including some of the most precise chronographs in the Swiss watch industry.
\nWith a diameter of 46 mm, the TAG HeuerConnected design is first and foremost that of a real watch, with case, back and lugs made of grade 2 titanium, a contemporary, modern material that makes the watch lighter and more shock-resistant than traditional materials such as steel or gold. Complemented by a black structured rubber strap (6 other colors – red, blue, white, orange, green and yellow – are available and sold separately) with a folding clasp also in grade 2 titanium, it has the elegance, features and level of finish of a fine wristwatch. \nFor the first time, TAG Heuer has developed three digital watch dials (also known as “Watch faces”) featuring the instantly recognizable codes of the TAG Heuer Carrera collection with its hands, hour markers, counters, date window and minute track.
\nAvailable at launch: the chronograph dial, the 3-hand dial and the GMT dial, all with date display and each available in a choice of three colors (black, navy blue or pearl white), all reproducing the look and function of a real dial, with the shadow of the hands and the beautiful sunburst effect of the light. And because the TAG Heuer Connected is first and foremost a watch, its hands and indexes remain visible to indicate the time, even when the watch is in standby mode.
\nSoon, other dials or “Watch Faces” will be proposed and why not customized by TAG Heuer ambassadors, available on the exclusive TAG Heuer app downloadable from the Google Play Store<\/a>. <\/p>\n

What makes it even more unique
\nThe TAG Heuer Connected is a true watch in its appearance, with its watch face and minute scale, and remains so even in its “connected” use, thanks to the unique concept of displaying its applications in its “interactive counters”.
\nThe principle is simple: the dial and hands remain, while the most relevant information from partner applications is elegantly displayed, fully integrated into the aesthetic watchmaking environment, in the three interactive chrono counters at 6, 9 & 12 o’clock.<\/p>\n

Does a counter display something of particular interest to you? Touching the counter in question allows you to open and interact with the application in full screen mode.
\nFavorite applications, sports data or alerts… this intuitive, user-friendly ergonomics gives pride of place to the experience, and allows the user to always concentrate on the essentials, while retaining the watchmaker look of his or her timepiece. The applications customized exclusively for TAG Heuer and available will initially be: Insiders (art of living), GolfShot Pro (golf), RaceChrono Pro (car racing) and Viewrangers(trailing), for which subscriptions will be offered.
