The jury for the Prix LVMH pour les Jeunes Cr\u00e9ateurs de Mode, made up of nine artistic directors from LVMH Group companies, has chosen Marques’Almeida as the winner of its second edition.<\/p>\n

Natalie Portman herself was on hand to present the trophy, designed by Jean-Michel Othoniel.<\/p>\n

In addition to the 300,000 euros, LVMH will support Marques’Almeida for one year through mentoring by a dedicated team.<\/p>\n

In view of the quality of the candidates, the jury also chose to award a Special Prize to Simon Porte Jacquemus of Jacquemus. He wins 150,000 euros and a year’s mentoring. <\/p>\n

Last year, the LVMH Prize was awarded to Thomas Tait, and two special prizes went to Hood by Air and Miuniku.<\/p>\n

Finally, three fashion school graduates stood out: Matty Bovan and Gabriel Castro, from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and Josh Read, from Kingston University, London. Each won 10,000 euros and a one-year contract to work in a LVMH studio: Matty Bovan at Louis Vuitton, Gabriel Castro at Kenzo and Josh Read at Dior. <\/p>\n

The school where they graduated also receives 10,000 euros to mark LVMH’s support for the educational teams and establishments that enable fashion to renew itself.<\/p>\n

The Prize will be renewed in 2016.<\/p>\n
