It is the most northerly point ever known for the production and maturation of malted whisky. Built in 1885 by Mcfarland and Townsend, the distillery was closed in 1994, and it wasn&#8217;t until it was bought by Chivas Brothers that it was restored and reborn from the ashes to once again offer its light-mouthed, elegant whisky.The Scapa style is an unpeated, light-mouthed whisky. In addition to the Master Distiller, it is run by just 3 people and has only 2 small stills, resulting in a very limited production of unique and rare whiskies.
