The Dior spirit on show in Tokyo. The French fashion house presented an Autumn-Winter 2015 pre-collection strongly inspired by this megalopolis, at once futuristic and steeped in tradition, under a shower of snow falling from a ceiling made of metal beams. On the fashion side, Artistic Director Raf Simons focused on functional glamour, playing on contrasting materials and colors. Sequins and multiple embroideries intermingle with knitwear, patent leather and wool. The Bar jacket, a staple of this wardrobe, is given an urban makeover. More graphic and angular, it is closer to the manga aesthetic. The Lady Dior bag is also transformed into an XXL version, or a mini slung over the shoulder. With the temporary exhibition “Esprit Dior” and the new boutique in Omotesando, the House of Dior is investing the Japanese capital with force. With an interview with Raf Simons.
