G\u00e9rald De Palmas has a career spanning more than 20 years, and a string of hits to his credit. After releasing his latest album in November 2013, he embarked on a tour of France in January, with a 1st Parisian stop at La Cigale on February 13. For this 2nd stop in Paris, G\u00e9rald De Palmas decided to set down his bags at the Olympia. <\/h5>\n
After an opening set by Arno Santamaria, who performed some of his songs for half an hour, including his latest and very good “Debout”, the show continued with G\u00e9rald De Palmas. For almost 1h45, the show featured songs from his latest album, such as “Marlowe” and “Je me souviens de tout”, as well as all his greatest hits, including “Sur la route”, “Une seule vie” and “Regarde-moi bien en face”.
\nThe quartet: G\u00e9rald de Palmas is accompanied on stage by Pascal B. Carmen on guitar, Edouard Coquart on bass and Julien Audigier on drums, imposes an effective rhythm, with a rock tendency and a hint of funk, without artifice: a little distortion, reverb and a good big sound.
\nOf particular note were the magnificent versions of “J’en r\u00eave encore” and “Au Paradis”, which thrilled both the audience and the Olympia floor, making them the highlights of the show.
