Chanson owns 2 ha in this climate. The soil of this parcel, located on the slopes of the Mont-Batois hill, facing Beaune, is very diverse geologically, with a significant presence of sand in the upper part of the slope, marked by an outcrop of the parent rock in places, and a clay vein in the lower part, giving a heavier soil. There is also a strong presence of small pebbles. This geological combination results in a well-structured wine with a good tannic base.     <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: Georgia\">The ideal climate and the specific characteristics of this terroir, combined with long, meticulous vatting times, strict temperature control and 19 months&#8217; oak barrel ageing (20% new oak), worked wonders for the 2009 vintage.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: Georgia\">The result: intense aromas of strawberry jam, plum with peppery notes and a touch of leather. You can feel the warmth of the earth in this wine. The texture is rich in detail, the volume is complex and plays on tannins with a patinated relief and a subtle woodiness.
