A few months ago, we were invited behind the scenes of THE BEST, the best artist. At the time, everything was confidential and we couldn’t tell you what we discovered.

\nWe liked the concept of the show, and we hope you will too.<\/p>\n

The show goes on air this Friday on TF1, but what’s the concept behind it?
\n“For several weeks, the world’s greatest artists, representing no less than fifty-four disciplines, perform
\ntheir best acts in front of an audience of over five hundred people. Each evening, twelve artists take to the stage in succession
\nto select the best performer,” explains Mathieu Vergne, TF1’s Director of Variety, Games and Entertainment.
\nAfter a 2’30 performance, the jury must give an average score out of ten. But they’re not the only ones to decide their fate:
\nthe audience present on stage also has the onerous task of awarding a score out of 10.
\nAt the end of each performance, the average score of the jury and the average score of the audience are added together to give a score out of 20.
\nIf this score is higher than that of the leading artist, then the challenger artist immediately dethrones him\/her and takes his\/her place in the chair of The best the best artist! At the end of the evening, the last person to occupy the Best Artist chair automatically qualifies for the final. At the end of all premiums, each member of the jury will use a “ticket to the final” to select the artist for whom he or she has fallen in love during the adventure, and send him or her to the final. Please note that each jury member can only save one artist over the whole season!
\nThe winner takes home a cheque for 100,000 euros and the trophy for The best artist in the final prime.

\nAll artistic disciplines are represented under the big top: illusion, water acrobatics, martial arts, balancing, laser
\nshow, roller acrobatics, singing, dance (such as popping), contortion… There are also performances never before seen in France, such as Mallakhamb, a traditional Indian sport, and mapping, a live performance in which the artist dances and interacts with video projections, to name but a few! <\/p>\n

An unrivalled facility
\n“We’re operating in a space of over 4,000 m2, an unrivalled facility. The huge big top houses the central stage. Outside are rehearsal rooms and reception areas for artists, production teams and jury members. This real village brings together twenty-seven nationalities from five continents,” explains the President of Shine France. No traditional studio would have allowed us to produce the same show.
\nTelevision has adapted to the needs of the various artists in order to accommodate them. The production work enhances each act. Under a big top, space and images are worked in a very different way. The use of steadycam and cameras placed in the space offer viewers a visual shock with depth and 360\u00b0 images.
\nBeyond the production, we work on very different artistic universes and tableaux, like on The Voice, la plus belle voix, where each performance was imbued with a very different universe. The audience will also discover a huge screen with video projections, not to mention the use of pyrotechnics. The artistic rendering will therefore be innovative for an evening program on TF1.”
