To celebrate its 80th anniversary, the LACOSTE brand gave Peter Saville carte blanche to shake up its legendary L.12.12 polo shirt as part of the “Holiday Collector” series. The English artistic director began his career in music. As founder of Factory Records, he created a series of iconic album covers for bands such as Joy Division and New Order between 1979 and 1993, as well as for Roxy Music, George Michael, Peter Gabriel and Pulp. He has also worked in fashion for Yohji Yamamoto, Martine Sitbon, Jil Sander, Christian Dior, Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy. In 2004, he was appointed Artistic Director of the City of Manchester. In 2010, he shook up England by designing the national soccer team’s outfits. With his humor, elegance and creativity, Peter Saville has succeeded in his mission: transforming an already cult garment into a must-have collection. <\/p>\n

Rather than changing the shape of the polo or its colors, Peter had fun with the crocodile. He kept the polo’s white color and the crocodile’s original shade of green. But he pushed the crocodile to its limits: he blurred it and turned it into a squiggle or a simple line. The LACOSTE logo is such an integral part of the brand’s identity that it remains present even when it’s no longer recognizable: the LACOSTE logo is immortal. <\/p>\n

For this edition, two collections will be available: The Holiday Collector N\u00b08 collection: a men’s polo and a women’s polo. Both white, with a choice of eight “crazy crocodiles”. And the Limited Edition: a truly unique edition, comprising 160 polo shirts (80 for women in size 38 and 80 for men in size 4) all with different logos, each available in a single copy. Each model will be sold with a numbered certificate of authenticity signed by Peter Saville. <\/p>\n\n\t\t
