Winner of the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, Tunisian director Abdellatif Kechiche’s La Vie d’Ad\u00e8le tells the love story between Ad\u00e8le, a fifteen-year-old girl played by Ad\u00e8le Exarchopoulos, and Emma, a mysterious, bluesy-haired girl played by L\u00e9a Seydoux.
\nAbdellatif Kechiche’s fifth feature is inspired by Julie Maroh’s comic strip “Le Bleu est une couleur chaude”, which won the Fnac-SNCF Audience Award at the 38th Angoul\u00eame International Comics Festival.
\nIn this film, the erotic power of the explicit sexual scenes is attenuated by the delicate, elegant directorial style, the many cultivated references and the spontaneous recitation of Ad\u00e8le Exarchopoulos and L\u00e9a Seydoux.
