\nOn March 17, 2013, at the Antiquorum auction of “Modern Important & Vintage Watches” in Geneva, one of A.Lange & S\u00f6hne’s most coveted masterpieces changed hands for 275,710! a TOURBILLON “Pour le M\u00e9rite” with the rare combination of a white gold case and blue dial. This fascinating watch is part of a limited edition of 200 dating from 1994. Fifty of these watches were produced with platinum cases and 130 with 18-carat white gold cases. Only 19 were equipped with white gold cases. <\/p>\n

The exceptionally high auction result for this complication watch far exceeded the maximum estimate of 225,000! The piece sold for more than 4 times its original retail price, the highest bid ever achieved for a white gold TOURBILLON “Pour le M\u00e9rite”.
