This design season marks the inevitable need toexpress the desire for freedom<\/strong>. A freedom that translates into the need to assert oneself with carefully diverted choices of materials and hybrid forms, a precision of detail pushed to the extreme and a reassuring, more elementary return to basics. <\/p>\n

A revisited heritage is emerging, with brands focusing on their DNA and reinterpreting great classics. Homes are becoming “fashionable”<\/strong>, expressing individual lifestyles through made-to-measure and modular solutions.<\/p>\n

Printemps has chosen to interpret next season’s trends around three themes: Classic Excentric<\/strong>, with a focus on extravagance from across the Channel, Origins<\/strong> and New Artisan<\/strong>. “This is a time for reflection and differentiation. Today, it’s necessary to move forward and focus on what’s essential: the product. Eccentricity is about escape, detail and detour. It’s a way of asserting one’s principles, ideology and a certain degree of eclecticism. London Mania is a foretaste of freedom, an old-fashioned ambience, and products that are self-assured, delightfully kitsch and revisited. The trend is alive in the shapes, materials and functionality of the products. It’s also about genesis, ancestral know-how and a deep respect for nature. Design reflects self-expression through lifestyle. Vintage is an absolute passageway to self-affirmation. It’s the meeting of the exacting standards of experienced designers, with greater freedom than we dare today.
