VOLGA, a dog’s wine

\nCuv\u00e9es named after children, grandfathers, grandmothers… are numerous in France. The “troublemaker” Jean No\u00ebl Bousquet wanted to buck this trend by creating a cuv\u00e9e bearing the effigy of
\nVolga, his dog, the estate’s mascot, always there to welcome customers and attract their caresses.
\nThis “dog wine” is a wine of pleasure. The kind you drink from the first sip to the last, without any fuss. A tribute to her faithful friend, who “A-Boats” with contentment. <\/p>\n

Terroir : Terrasse de l’Orbieu, rounded pebbles. Bottom of
\nclay-limestone hillside. Gr\u00e8s de Boutenac
\nGrape varieties:
\nCarignan: 30% Single Guyot pruning.5 to 10 years
\nGrenache: 20% Gobelet pruning. 10 to 20 years
\nSyrah: 50% Gobelet pruning. 30 to 50 years
\nCultivation: Soil ploughing, rational phytosanitary protection (respect for balance, protection of
\nauxiliaries). Vineyard management: trellising for Syrah, free vegetation for Grenache and Carignan.
\nHarvesting: Manual, sorted on the stump.
\nVinification: Manual sorting on arrival at the winery. De-stemming Vatting time: 22 days on average, with temperatures maintained at
\n28\u00b0 C. Extraction by pumping over and punching down.
\nAgeing: one year in vats with 3 rackings, aeration and resuspension of the fine lees.
\nTasting notes: Fresh red fruit, sweet spices and garrigue aromas, found in a
\nmouth that offers ripe tannins. A tasty, gourmet wine.
\nProduction: 12,000 bottles
