Results of a behavioral study<\/p>\n
To mark Valentine’s Day, online department store Brandalley and CCM Benchmark Group asked the question of fashion’s influence on life for two. Practical advice and preconceived ideas, and above all, proof that fashion is no laughing matter when it comes to love! <\/p>\n
Here are a few examples resulting from this study (1,000 people surveyed in January 2013):<\/p>\n
Fashion, a seduction weapon to be taken very seriously:<\/p>\n
– Women attach as much importance to their own style of dress (84%) as to their partner’s (82%).
\n– Men attach even more importance to their partner’s style of dress (81%), than to their own (71%).
\n– And contrary to popular belief, only 12% of men think their partner spends too much on fashion.<\/p>\n
Ladies: here’s how to crack him:<\/p>\n
– A smoky look (39%), no other make-up (28%).
\n– Sexy underwear in lace or satin (67%).
\n– Where you prefer jeans by far (80%), men also like jeans (48%), but like you just as much in dresses or skirts (48%), and like to show off your legs (42%), although they’re not totally into miniskirts (only 12%)
\n– Wear boots or ankle boots instead.
\n– A Kate Moss look in a strapless dress, or even Catwoman in a pantsuit, where you think playing Marilyn works every time.
\nPS: Keep in mind: almost one man in two confirms that his partner’s style of dress had an influence at the start of their relationship (compared with only one woman in three)…
\nOnce in a relationship, the woman takes charge:<\/p>\n
– In fact, 77% of women say they have an influence on their partner’s clothing style (compared to only 53% of men).
\n– 77% of women often or sometimes give fashion items to their partner, compared to only 55% of men.
\nFashion can be a passionate subject:<\/p>\n
– One man in three and one woman in three disagree on average with their partner’s style of dress. For 38% of women and 49% of men, this disagreement can sometimes turn into an argument, on a more or less occasional basis.
\n– The gift of a fashion item can fortunately lead to reconciliation
\n– 87 to 89% of men or women think that the fashion item offered suits them!
