Massive Attack
\n“Blue Lines : 2012 Remix\/Remaster”<\/p>\n

On November 19, 2012, EMI will release a remixed and remastered version (from the original tapes, in the band’s own studio) of Massive Attack’s iconic album “Blue Lines”.<\/p>\n

Originally released in April 1991 on the Circa label distributed by Virgin Records, “Blue Lines”, a decoction of break beats, samples and rap, influenced by soul, punk, reggae, dub, rock, electro and hip-hop, was truly a revolutionary album, certainly the most seminal of British records.<\/p>\n

From the first track, the menacing, bass-heavy “Safe From Harm”, to the last, “Hymn Of The Big Wheel” performed by Horace Andy and Neneh Cherry, via the carefree English rap of “Five Man Army”, and “Blue Lines”, which gives the record its title (not forgetting to mention the iconic cover, Blue Lines” perfectly distilled the band’s influences and offered a unique, graceful sound that helped redefine the musical landscape, both in the UK and around the world. A sound that continues to resonate in music and culture today. <\/p>\n

The remixed and remastered 2012 edition will be available on CD, standard and high-resolution downloads, and in a Deluxe box set. Included will be the CD, a DVD featuring high-resolution 96K\/24 bit audio files, the album split into two 180-gram vinyl discs, and the original promo poster. <\/p>\n
