The Impasse de La D\u00e9fense show took place in the shelter of the Gare de l’Est rose window. Although it was the opening show of FASHION week, it was not the most crowded. And yet, the poetic staging and setting were well worth the detour. <\/p>\n
Inspired by the designer’s near-pilgrimage to the “Documenta” contemporary art exhibition in Kassel, this collection was intended to reflect a streamlined fashion style based on the classicism and avant-garde modernism of the aforementioned exhibition.<\/p>\n
Indeed, what really sets this show apart is the simplicity of the outfits. Lots of dresses, lots of tulle and acrylic paint right on the clothes, reminiscent of the McQueen show in 2007. Punk princesses paraded before our very eyes. <\/p>\n
Lots of white and black, setting the tone for all the trends seen at this fashion week. Colors were nevertheless present. The most striking aspect of the show, however, was the original staging: the models were draped and only uncovered at the end of the catwalk, next to the wall of photographers. The mystery was therefore at its height, as those in the audience could only see the shoes until they returned to the catwalk. <\/p>\n
So it was an interesting collection that we saw at the show. A great deal of research was carried out, and although the house is not one of the most famous, it nevertheless managed to impress and fulfill its role as fashion week’s opening ball. <\/p>\n\n\t\t
