Fresh and androgynous at Guy Laroche<\/p>\n
The Guy Laroche show was a real breath of fresh air at FASHION week!
\nIn the context of the ephemeral space in the Tuileries gardens, this was, in my opinion, one of the finest collections presented during the week. <\/p>\n
The runway show opens with flamboyant, assertive shades of green, subtly married to navy, white or powder pink on silk, chiffon or cotton for ladylike outfits. Ankle-length is de rigueur, with marked waistlines expressing the designer’s idea of a woman. <\/p>\n
The collection is very classic, yet brilliantly striking. The color combinations are obvious, the body is always well covered and much is left to suggestion, proof of discreet luxury and mastery bordering on perfection. <\/p>\n
Long dresses, high-waisted skirts, suits, blouses and shirts seem to be the designer’s playground, as he plays with volumes with ease. The simple motifs are staged in such an incredible way and with such elegance, charisma even, that we can’t help but give a standing ovation at the end of this show of crazy freshness and delicacy, imbued with the values and know-how of the house. <\/p>\n
