\nToday, superheroes are everywhere, thanks in no small part to film adaptations.<\/p>\n

If you’re a fan, or just want to go back to the source, here’s a selection of the best comics of the moment, including the reissue of “Spider-Man, the death of Jean DeWolff” in the “Best of Marvel” collection. To mark the 50th anniversary of this mythical superhero, this adventure, scripted by Peter David and drawn by Rich F. Buckler and Sal Buscema, is a must-have. <\/p>\n

Firstly, because it’s the perfect opportunity to plunge back into the 80’s, at the heart of a true urban crime thriller. Secondly, because the script cleverly blends action, emotion and suspense, with guest stars including the Kingpin, Daredevil and Mary-Jane. And finally, because finding the Weaver in his black-and-white costume (a harmless copy of Venom’s) tracking down the Redeemer, responsible for the death of his friend Commissioner Jean DeWolff, is one of the great moments of Spider-Man’s career. <\/p>\n

In parallel, if you’re a Captain America fan, the mini-series “A Man Out of Time”, by the Waid-Molina duo, will introduce you to him just after he reappears after years in suspended animation in a block of ice. Lost in a world he doesn’t understand, he’ll confront Kang and try to go back in time to find his late partner Bucky. An original adventure, which can be seen as a sequel to the feature film. For the fun of it, feel free to compare the plates of this comic-book with those of “The Death of Jean DeWolff” – the difference is very real… <\/p>\n

Finally, if you prefer a complete change of scenery, “Annihilation Conquest” (Marvel Deluxe) is for you. On the program: a cosmic war, the Krees, Star-Lord, Quasar and Nova (a character born in the 70’s that the French know well). All the ingredients are here for an extraordinary journey of over 200 pages. <\/p>\n

And don’t miss the new publications from Urban Comics (Johns and Lee’s “JLA” and Snyder and Capullo’s “Batman” live up to their promise), as well as the 7th volume of “Invincible” (Delcourt), featuring this teenage superhero and his offbeat adventures (by Kirkman and Ottley)!<\/p>\n

Finally, hats off to TF6 for the rebroadcast of the 10th and final season of “Smallville”. The final episode brought us Lex Luthor as President of the United States (as in the 2003 comic-book) and Lois and Clark ready to get married (an event inspired by Superman’s 1996 wedding). <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
