The Intercontinental Paris Le Grand has invited visitors to discover and rediscover the work of Catherine Cairn. Until June 10, 2012, the artist took over the hotel’s grand glassworks. Sculpture by sculpture, she demonstrated the complexity and diversity of her work. <\/p>\n

The author, a resolutely humanist, is interested in Being, Being in the making, Being fulfilled. Through figurative creation, she attempts to capture the essence of the human soul, at its best. Portraits (including that of St. Louis), allegories, she offers an intriguing array. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Trained at the Beaux-Arts, Catherine Cairn is not only a creator, but also a teacher. Aware of the diversity of her audience and keen to encourage everyone to consider sculpture differently, the young woman has developed a teaching method. Using prototypes modelled on the human body, she teaches children and adults alike to perceive three-dimensionality in a tactile way. \"\"<\/a> Through this sensitive approach, she reinforces their perception and image of their own body, as well as that of the surrounding universe.

For this exhibition celebrating the 150th anniversary of L’Intercontinental, Mr. Laure and his team once again succeeded in capturing the public’s interest. Visiting this ephemeral gallery was like venturing elsewhere, to a land where delicacy and listening to others are paramount.
