\nRagne Kikas, a young Estonian designer based in Hamburg (Germany), winner of the Premi\u00e8re Vision Prize, one of the four prizes awarded as part of the Fashion Competition at the Hy\u00e8res International Fashion & Photography Festival. Ragne Kikas was also awarded the Prix du Public & de la Ville d’Hy\u00e8res.
\n\ufffc \"\"<\/a>
\nOne of ten finalists, Ragne Kikas offers her vision of radicalism: her collection is inspired by 15th and 16th century armor, whose hard, angular forms she translates into knitwear, her preferred technique.
\nEach silhouette must be a new, sculptural enigma, at once obvious and impenetrable.
\nHer collection was produced with the support of exhibitors at Premi\u00e8re Vision, ModAmont and Expofil:
\nClose to Clothes, Eclair Prym Belgium S.A., and Tearfil Textile Yarns.
\nFor the second year running, Premi\u00e8re Vision, the world’s leading trade show for apparel fabrics, is partnering the Festival d’Hy\u00e8res and sponsoring one of its Awards. Valued at 10,000 euros, the Prix Premi\u00e8re Vision does more than simply award a grant to the winning young designer.
\nPremi\u00e8re Vision, whose vocation is to strengthen contacts between the most creative players in the industry, is fully committed to this operation to support young talent and build a long-term relationship.
\nIn the run-up to the Prix, Premi\u00e8re Vision gave a special welcome to the ten finalists at the February 2012 show. This enabled the young designers to establish direct contacts with exhibiting spinners, weavers and accessory manufacturers.
\nOn July 11 and 12, at Premi\u00e8re Vision Preview New York, Ragne Kikas is invited to present her work to the North American press and fashion industry.
\nNext stop, Paris: Ragne Kikas, as part of Premi\u00e8re Vision Pluriel (September 19-21, 2012), will take part in the PV Awards, for which she will be one of the members of the Jury on September 21.
