Doudouscare invades the Manoir de Paris

\nFrom May 31 to June 3, 2012, the Manoir de Paris will be exhibiting new monsters as part of the new edition of Little Paradis.
\nThe DoudouScare are multiplied, like clones, on the walls of the haunted museum. Strange and precious totemic objects, these creations by artist James Lassey populate the Manor’s lobby with their disquieting presence. Heroes from another world, with eyes wide open, these plush toys with their refined contours lend themselves to all kinds of appropriations, reflecting the universe of gentleness and violence of childhood.
\nAn unusual sculpture, an immense skull and crossbones made up of 172 pink Doudoupops floats in the air currents. A series of photographic tableaux entitled “errance”, “ablation” and “accident” stand out against the old earthenware walls: three DoudouScare pose, motionless and grey, their bodies open, staring at the visitor with their hallucinated, empty gaze. Discreetly erected in a corner, a pile of fabric bones defies the challenges of time. Nearby, a woven tapestry of vermin teems with bright colors. Omnipresent, the DoudouScare take root in a place that becomes the space of their incarnation. A strange transmutation. Suddenly, that which has always existed before emerges.
\nDoudouscare: An exhibition like a macabre and tender ode to the passing of time, a sweet treat with a bitter and sweet taste. Between love, desire and death.
