On the land<\/strong>
\nCoffee trees, banana plantations, cocoa and sugar cane fields, avocado bushes, mango and flamboyant trees, tropical forest, the center of the island is an exceptional nature reserve.

1. Trekking in the primary forest (Descartiers)<\/em><\/p>\n

– Departure from Micoud (south-east)
\nDeparture Micoud, arrival Fond Saint Jacques. A 4-hour walk accompanied by a forest guide. The wild vegetation will help you discover the most hidden part of the forest and the different color forms of our island’s resplendent flora. The primary forest is relatively unspoilt and covers very large areas. As on many tropical islands, St. Lucia’s flora and fauna are very rich and unique.
\nSt. Lucia’s parrot, the Amazona Versicolore, is a protected species found only on the island. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to see this sublime, colorful bird. You can picnic and swim in the La Tille waterfall, one of the superb sites protected by the Ministry of Tourism. <\/p>\n

– From Millet (45 minutes from Anse la Raie)
\nA real treat. An equally beautiful excursion in the midst of Saint Lucia’s nature. <\/p>\n

2. Tet Paul (1-hour walk with a forest guide, with a stop at an organic farm)<\/em>
\nTet Paul lies to the southeast of the town of Soufri\u00e8re. You’ll discover a spectacular view overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Jalousie Bay, the Pitons and, on a clear day, Martinique and St Vincent. Stop at a hut for a demonstration of Kassav-making. Walk through the rainforest and discover exotic fruits: corrossol, mango, guava, avocado, cashew nuts and medicinal plants. The walk ends at quartier Fond gens libres, where the gros piton walk begins. <\/p>\n

3. Climb the Pitons
\nThe Gros Piton and Petit Pitons are the island’s natural curiosities. They have been classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites since 2004. Gros Pitons, at 770 metres, is a triangular-shaped mountain along the Caribbean coast. Petit Pitons culminates at around 797 meters and is more tapered.
\nDiscover the wilderness and enjoy breathtaking views over the whole island. The summit offers an exceptional panorama. The descent is made through the vegetation on a marked path.
