\nGiovanni Allevi is one of the most singular independent pianist-composers on the scene today. His musical language, cultivated and emotional, outlines a different kind of contemporary classical music, based on a new melodic and rhythmic intensity. His musical heroes include Bach, Chopin and Rachmaninov, as well as Gershwin, Corea, Nyman and Glass… He does not deny the classical form, but wishes to nourish it with more contemporary musical material.
