MASTER TRUNK-MAKER SINCE 1872<\/p>\n

S.T.Dupont returns to its roots as a Malletier, initiated in Paris in 1872 by Simon Tissot Dupont.
\nThe company has just reopened its bespoke workshop in Faverges, a small village in Haute Savoie at the foot of the French Alps, on the very spot where its last factory was established in 1923. <\/p>\n

Today, the Maison is launching a women’s collection of handbags, travel trunks, suitcases and small leather goods, recognizable by the double-D monogram dated 1920. The new collection will be available for sale from September 29, 2011, the date of the reopening of the recently renovated Paris boutique at 58 avenue Montaigne.
\nOther boutiques are scheduled to open in the coming months. <\/p>\n

Among the first products to be custom-made in the new workshop was the briefcase presented by President Sarkozy and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy on the occasion of the wedding of Prince William and Princess Kate of England. <\/p>\n

One of the handbags in the women’s collection, the “Audrey” model, is a tribute to the legendary Audrey Hepburn, who in 1953 was one of the first customers to order the “Riviera” bag, two original examples of which were recently found in the forgotten Faverges archives and among the last heirs of the Dupont family.<\/p>\n
