\"\"<\/a>The prestigious Le Prince Maurice prize has just been awarded to two talented writers: Sophie Fontanel for her novel “Grandir” and K\u00e9th\u00e9vane Davrichewy for her novel “la Mer Noire”.
\nFor this 9th edition, the jury, chaired by Daniel Picouly, is made up of Frenchmen Paule Constant, Marc Lambron and Alain Mabanckou, and Mauritians Kumari Issur, Carl de Souza and Alain Gordon-Gentil, all writers, journalists or academics.
\nThe 2011 session of the Prix Le Prince Maurice – which welcomed juries and nominees from June 6 to 12 in Mauritius – provided an opportunity to develop the ambitious cultural challenges it has set itself, with the support of the cultural services of the French Embassy in Mauritius.
\nThese 2011 deliberations meet the expectations of the Prix Le Prince Maurice, whose aim is to perpetuate the cultural links between Mauritius and Europe, in particular with France and Great Britain, which share a common cultural history with Mauritius. The prize is awarded in even-numbered years to an English-language writer, and in odd-numbered years to a French-language writer. <\/p>\n
