There she discovers the wonders of this small island nation. To the amazement of the King&#8217;s entourage, but not without pride in La Levrette&#8217;s family, the couple announced their engagement in Kokh\u00efngrad, the capital of Tauride, on December 15, 2007. \u00c9milienne was 23, Nicolas 78.   <\/p>\n<p>The wedding, announced for the following May, was immediately decried by the tabloid press and jealousy-mongers of all stripes. However, on May 20 2008, H.M. King Nicolas III of Tauride and H.S.H. Princess Emilienne were married in the cathedral of Our Lady of the Holy Absence of God in Kokh\u00efngrad, according to the absentheist rite, in front of a hundred crowned heads and heads of state who had come to witness the event of the year. <\/p>\n<p>But on the very night of the wedding, King Nicholas III died of a bad fall, in circumstances that remain obscure yet tragic. To everyone&#8217;s surprise, the young widow learned from her husband&#8217;s will that she was to inherit the throne of Tauride. <\/p>\n<p>On July 12, 2008, at the end of the official mourning period, the advent of the new Queen was celebrated.<\/p>\n<p>Perceived as an outsider unprepared for her new role, the young Emilienne initially left the exercise of power to her ministers.
